Nollie & Co, Sunrise not Secular, TrailWest, Blackrock Ceilidh Band, Face the West, The Raggaels
Saturday - in no particular order:
The Vatersay Boys, The Raggaels, Shindig (Nollie performing a Runrig Tribute), Whiskey River, Manran

 

February 2010 – Plans for Barrafest 2010 are well on the way. The date has been set, and a number of bands are under consideration. We hope to have an exciting line-up of new bands and some old favourites.

Confirmed so far are;

 

  Sunrise not Secular                              

“Hailing from the Isle of Lewis, Sunrise not Secular are one of the hottest new bands to emerge on the Celtic Rock scene. SNS are a passionate visionary Celtic Rock band. The band blends powerful rock with fluid and spiritual lyrics in both English and Gaelic, with an overall anthemic sound, creating something truly unique.”

 

The Raggaels
Always popular at Barrafest, we are glad to welcome the Raggaels back to Barra!
“Since their debut, The Raggaels have become one of Scotland's most highly sought after live acts, whipping up audiences Caledonia wide to ramming speed with their unique blend of thunderous bass & drums, crunching guitar, white hot fiddle and emotionally charged vocals.”

Festival 2009 – Barrafest 2009 was again a great success! Even the miserable weather on Friday could not stop us all from having a great time! Friday night kicked off with Fèis Pipers and Fiddles, followed by The Moonshiners, The Vatersay Boys, Celtic Spirit, Technocelt, Skerryvore and the Raggaels!

It was a great line-up, and the atmosphere within the tent was amazing. While the wind and rain howled outside, we raised a storm inside the tent!
Saturday night’s line-up was The Raggaels, Celtic Spirit, the Vatersay Boys, Nollie and Co, and Face the West.
It was an amazing night! The bands were great and it has been a wonderful weekend!
A big thank you to everyone who helped put together the two nights - organisers, volunteers, emergency services, bands, and technical staff. See you all in 2010!

29th July 2007 - The final night of BarraFest was amazing with Box Club, Skerryvore, Four Good Men and Red Hot Chilli Pipers!  Not a soul was standing still by the end of the night and a good time was had by all!  A big thank you to everyone who helped put together the two nights - organisers, volunteers, emergency services, bands, technical staff and all those who supported financial!  Roll on BarraFest 2008!!   

28th July 2007 - The first night of BarraFest has been classed as highly successful with a full packed tent listening to bands which included - Na h-Oganich, Box Club, Face the West, Comhlan Cuil, Fred Morrison & Co and Nollie & Co!

27th July 2007 - Barra Fest begins this afternoon at 4pm - how exciting!!  

8th June 2007 - Tickets for Saturday night have now sold out - there are NO more tickets available!  Friday night tickets are going very fast indeed.  Tickets for the Friday night are still available locally from the shops, Feis Office or www.thebooth.co.uk .   

17th May 2007 - Tickets for Barra Fest are selling like hotcakes and those who have still to purchase tickets should do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available locally from Co-Chomunn Shop, A & C MacLean, Airport Cafe, Feis Office and Gillian Hamill.  Tickets are also available on The Booth - www.thebooth.co.uk.  Once the allocation of tickets have been sold, there will be no other tickets available, so you have been warned!!!!

4th April 2007 – The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have confirmed that they will play at Barra Fest! Winners of the BBC Programme ‘When Will I Be Famous,’ the band are sure to impress with their Scottish Rock n Roll. We look forward to welcoming them to the shores of Castlebay!
